redIT develops Data Hub as a platform
In the ongoing Blog series We have informed you how digitalization is being gradually implemented at redIT. Since digitalization is a continuous change process that began with the introduction of computers, we are constantly working to improve the current status and become even more efficient and customer-oriented. – In the following lines we will inform you how we are successfully driving forward our own digitalization and not losing sight of our goals – one of which was to develop a data hub as a platform.
Based on what was carried out at the beginning Maturity analysis We were not only able to define step-by-step implementation but also measurable goals. The step-by-step implementation is a central success factor of the process. How often have you calculated the return on investment (ROI) in the past, only to realize after a short time that the complex ROI calculation is not correct at all. Experience and make ROI visible is our motto.
Or to put it another way: Every franc invested should bring about a noticeable simplification and increase in efficiency!
The achievement of goals is discussed regularly at every management meeting and, if necessary, corrections or measures are discussed in order to get back on track. Close support from GL is central to digitalization projects because: «Digitalization is a matter for the boss and cannot be delegated or deported at will.”
Advancing digitalization is constantly creating new hurdles:
-What does a fully digital company do when it receives a letter or invoice in the mail from a supplier?
-Or if the customer still wants paper invoices?
Converting analog documents into digital documents (scanning) and vice versa (printing) involves a great loss of information and time. To eliminate these losses, we have a platform (a data hub) developed that supports us and you in consistently continuing on the path to becoming a paperless company.
The image above outlines the process of invoicing to the supplier via Data Hub. The following explanations:
- The supplier has the following options for sending invoices:
- Send invoices at the push of a button directly from your own ERP
- Convert the invoice into a PDF and then send it via email
- Print out the invoice and send it by post
- The incoming invoices are received in the data hub – This happens because:
- Either the biller sends all invoices to the redIT Data Hub
- or the invoice recipient redirects all of their analog mail to redIT.
- The Data Hub platform now defines how the invoices can be forwarded to the recipient (or must be forwarded based on specifications). – The following options exist:
- Invoice is sent via eBill because the recipient is registered in eBill
- The recipient has an EDI interface so that the invoice can be forwarded this way
- Invoice sending via email as PDF
- The invoice will be printed out and forwarded by post
With the new Data Hub platform, we bring analog suppliers and digital customers or vice versa together and, above all, save the digital partner a lot of unnecessary effort when converting analog documents into documents that can be processed digitally.
Digitalization is a never-ending process. We would be happy if we could share our experiences with you and accompany you on your journey and tackle the many opportunities that digitalization brings with it.
