Get a taste of the future at redIT
Yesterday was a special day at redIT, the national future day was coming up. A day on which young people are offered the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of adults and gain insights into different professions and areas of work. So we opened our doors to five interested young talents.
So that our younger guests had the opportunity to find out what interests them and what excites them, we tried to make the day very varied. It started at the headquarters in Baar with an introductory session, a tour of the timber-framed house and an introduction to the company redIT. Afterwards there were insights into the marketing department. Videos were produced, edited and edited together with an employee. The kids were highly motivated to get the best out of it and had a lot of fun together. After a short “Z-Nüni break” we went to our IT department. A server was completely assembled there and a Minecraft server was then installed. The kids could then play on this, which they of course thought was great.
After a super delicious lunch… there was pizza 😋, the accompanying persons with the kids relocated to our Oberrüti location. After a tour of the departments, they were able to get involved themselves and disassemble, assemble and experiment with an A3 printer and a notebook. The challenge was to explore the inner workings of hardware - this required dexterity.
At the end there was a small gift to the motivated young people and a feedback session. It was exciting to hear how they experienced the day and what was particularly exciting for them. At redIT, it is a central concern to give young people an insight into the varied world of IT jobs to be able to give. We were all the more pleased about the positive signals we received from the boys and girls at the end of the day.
