Christmas campaign: redIT supports schools in Schächental with 40 laptops
As part of our Christmas campaign this year, we were delighted to present around forty laptops to the future fifth-grade students of the Schächental schools. The handover took place on December 5, 2025, at the Unterschächen primary school – attended by Georg Simmen, member of the cantonal government and director of education, representatives from the municipalities, the school board, and the school administration.
How the fundraising campaign came about
The idea originated from a conversation between teacher Salome Walker-Ineichen and our owner & managing director Andreas Kleeb. During this conversation, they discussed how computer science lessons are structured according to Curriculum 21 and that every child works with a personal laptop from the fifth grade onwards.
It quickly became clear to us: We can make a meaningful contribution here!
As part of our annual Christmas campaign, we therefore decided to support the schools in the Schächental valley with devices. Some of the laptops had previously been used as part of our IT work at the ESAF in Mollis in use and are now finding a new home in the modern digital infrastructure of schools.

Why is this commitment important to us?
Andreas Kleeb emphasized during the handover:
"Today, there is hardly a profession that can do without digital skills – from trade and administration to agriculture. We are particularly pleased that the laptops here in the valley are providing valuable service and further strengthening the digital skills of the children."
For us, digital education is not just a technological issue, but a societal one. We want to give children access to modern tools so they can navigate the digital world safely and confidently.
Great joy for the school and communities
Representatives from schools and local government praised our donation as a valuable addition to existing computer science lessons and a significant relief for the school budget. The children's enthusiasm at the handover demonstrated how much the devices are valued in everyday use.
As a token of gratitude, the school administration presented a gift basket filled with regional specialties to Andrew Kleeb and Alessia Poletti (Head of Marketing & Sales Support). For Alessia Poletti, herself a native of Uri, the campaign had a very special personal connection:
"Digitalization has the strongest impact when it connects people and creates opportunities. That's precisely why promoting digital education is so important to us at redIT."

A glimpse into the day of visits
The students eagerly received their new devices and were clearly ready to embrace even more digital learning in their lessons. At the same time, Director of Education Georg Simmen and the attending representatives from the municipal and school boards emphasized the long-term benefits of the initiative and the importance of modern digital equipment. A heartfelt, locally rooted expression of gratitude from the school rounded off the visit and underscored the appreciation for redIT's commitment.
