In the thick of it: This was our trial day
IT is our future – and it begins with the talents of tomorrow. At redIT, training new IT specialists is particularly important to us. That's why we focus on exciting, practical apprenticeships with genuine team spirit and tangible added value. We know that inspiring young people for technology and IT at an early age lays the foundation for their professional development – and for a strong job market of tomorrow.
But what does a typical day in IT actually look like? What tasks does a computer scientist perform? And what does it feel like to be a part of redIT? Four motivated young people were able to experience this firsthand at our taster day this year – a day full of insights, questions, and first experiences – and perhaps even the first step toward an IT career.
Learning by doing – with our learners as guides
What was especially cool was that our trainees were there to guide us throughout the entire day. This meant our taster guests could learn directly from those who had been at exactly the same point not so long ago. It was a relaxed, direct experience, and full of useful information.
That was our trial day – a brief review:
09:00 AM – Let's go! 🚀
After a brief welcome and introduction to redIT, we started the trial day with a relaxed round of introductions.
Into practice 🖥️🔧
We got straight to the nitty-gritty – setting up virtual machines, configuring shared folders, and getting to know the server hardware and even putting it into operation.
IT career information 📚💡
Of course, there was also input on vocational school, inter-company courses (ÜK) and everyday life during the apprenticeship.
Discover redIT once 🏢👀
During a tour of our company, the trainees were not only able to take a look behind the scenes, but also see how diverse and interconnected our everyday life is.
12:00 pm – Lunch break with pizza 🍕😋
Because brain food is important – and pizza is always a good idea. With us, no trial day is complete without the traditional pizza order.
Afternoon = Code Time 💻⚙️
Try out PowerShell scripts, build your own small HTML website and maintain the trial diary.
Conclusion with exchange 🗣️📝
In an open question and answer session and short feedback discussions, all impressions could be shared and final questions clarified.
16:00 PM – End of work! 🎉👋
After an exciting day full of impressions, questions, and initial IT experiences, the trial day came to an end – with many new insights in our luggage.
Our conclusion about the trial day
Our four trial apprentices not only saw how varied and exciting the career of a computer scientist can be – they were also able to get involved and experience what teamwork and technology mean at redIT.
We're already looking forward to welcoming the next motivated talents to join us – maybe you or someone you know will be there next time?

We are always looking for talent who want to enrich our company!
