The year 2025 is drawing to a close, and with it, our very special anniversary year. 40 years of redIT: A milestone we've celebrated month after month with exciting blog posts, stories from the past, and moments from our everyday lives.

One of the most significant moments was our customer event in Oberrüti. There, we were able to celebrate four decades of cooperation, trust, and development with our customers.
Another highlight was the celebration with our employees. We were able to celebrate 40 years of team spirit twice. These special moments once again demonstrated how much loyalty and team spirit define redIT.

🎉 Anniversary celebration – an evening full of memories and community
On October 31, 2025, we celebrated our anniversary – and in excellent company! Fittingly, on the official anniversary date of November 1st, we all gathered at the Ebel restaurant in Baar, right next to our headquarters, together.
Over a relaxed spaghetti dinner, we enjoyed an evening filled with good conversation, laughter, and reminiscing about the past years. It was the perfect opportunity to raise a glass to our achievements and celebrate the team spirit that defines our company every day.
A particular highlight of the evening was the performance with rhymes and gifts for Andreas – a humorous and heartfelt gesture that brought smiles and emotional moments to many faces. In a relaxed atmosphere, accompanied by good food and many fond memories, it became clear once again how much dedication, joy, and camaraderie our team possesses.
We look back with gratitude – and forward to the future with great motivation and team spirit. ❤️
From working student to entrepreneur – Andreas over 40 years of redIT 💡
Forty years ago, Andreas laid the foundation for what redIT is today. In this interview, he talks about his beginnings in the IT era, the transformation of the IT industry, formative experiences, and the values that continue to guide redIT today. A conversation about pioneering spirit, responsibility, and the courage to continually tackle new things. 🚀
Andreas, can you still remember your first days at Büro Wickart? What were they like?
I joined Büro Wickart as a student employee in 1985, after we had already sold our own software for analyzing chemical measurement series as student employees at Basler Chemie. The air at Büro Wickart still smelled of paper, carbon paper, and typewriter oil—and at the same time, there was that electric spark of IT in the air. It was clear to me: something was being created here that would fundamentally change work. It was exciting, but also demanding: a lot of responsibility, a steep learning curve, and countless evenings in the office. This pace would hardly have been possible without tremendous, almost timeless commitment.
What were your goals at Büro Wickart?
My goal was to develop genuine IT expertise from the then-emerging IT landscape. I wanted to move away from simply selling equipment and toward solutions that digitally support and simplify business processes. In short: technology should bring tangible benefits to our customers. At the same time, I was driven by our pioneering spirit. I was fascinated by the new technological possibilities, and I wanted to implement them in a way that would truly work in everyday life.
What were the biggest challenges in the early years?
In the early years, we were primarily concerned with the following four things:
1. Convince customers that IT is more than just hardware and can add further value.
2. To find talented individuals willing to invest a great deal of time and energy into pioneering work, even though the outcome was uncertain.
3. Establish structures that grow with the company: away from the workshop logic and toward services and recurring tasks for stable ongoing operations. The transformation from a specialist retailer to an IT service provider was a true cultural shift.
4. What is hard to imagine today: Back then, what was technically feasible was quickly achieved and not every customer request could be fulfilled; today, almost anything is feasible.
How has the IT industry changed in the last four decades in your opinion – and how do you see redIT in the market today?
Looking back, IT has evolved from its beginnings with office machines and large data centers, through personal computers and client/server structures, to today's cloud and managed services, becoming the central source of value creation. Today, the focus is on applications and data, available as services anytime, anywhere, and on any device – reliably, securely, and in compliance with legal requirements and good data governance. redIT sees itself as a reliable partner for SMEs and institutions: We combine cloud & infrastructure, business solutions, and workplace/printing into pragmatic, operational, end-to-end solutions from a single source. With security by design, clearly defined service levels, and a focus on business benefits, we simplify our customers' daily work and free them up to focus on their core tasks.
What does it mean to you to look back on 40 years of redIT?
When I look back on 40 years of redIT, I am filled with gratitude and pride for the people who made it possible. What started as three IT employees has become a major IT service provider and employer in German-speaking Switzerland, with many colleagues having been with the company for decades. This loyalty is the foundation for the quality we offer our customers. At the same time, we have remained curious and eager to explore new avenues.
What are your biggest learnings from the last 40 years as an entrepreneur?
- Clarity beats complexity: Customers are looking for solutions to their problems, not just technology.
- Culture over strategy: A strategy only works if the culture is right. That's why I keep teams small, agile, and independent.
- Maintain partnerships: Long-term relationships with manufacturers and customers pay off, especially in difficult times.
- Timing is everything. Not every technology is the first, but the first to be operational.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a business today?
- Do it: Entrepreneurship is the most wonderful thing there is. It brings many sleepless nights and frayed nerves, but in return it also brings great satisfaction.
- Start with the customer, not with the technology: Develop solutions that are truly needed, with clear added value and reliable quality. No innovation is successful without customer acceptance.
- Grow profitably and sustainablyPlan for operating profit, thereby securing equity for future investments, and strive for excellence rather than mediocrity.
- Culture before structures: Promote commitment, respect, trust, willingness to learn, team spirit, open communication and discipline – in the end, it is the people who make the difference.
…and what else do I want to say?
Entrepreneurship is a team sport. 40 years is not an individual achievement, but the result of Customer loyalty, reliable partners and employeeswho take responsibility. Thank you – and stay curious!
Anniversary excursion with the Furka Mountain Steam Railway 🚂✨
🎉 40 years of redIT – an anniversary full of steam, team spirit and history
For our 40th anniversary, we did something very special with our employees: a trip with the Furka Mountain Steam Railway (DFB) – a journey into the past that our team will not soon forget.
From Realp to Oberwald – and back to the past
Our journey began in Realp on the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway to Oberwald, where the historic steam train carriages were already waiting for us. In Gletsch, the steam locomotive was attached – a true spectacle, which many of us filmed and were amazed by.
Steam, smoke and breathtaking views
Then it started: With thick clouds of steam 🌫️🚂, rhythmic hissing and whistling, the train set off toward the Furka Pass. The highlight for many was the view from the open platform 🚃 – the wind in their faces, steam in the air, and the magnificent vista at 2 meters above sea level. People took photos, filmed, marveled, and, above all, laughed. The excitement was palpable throughout the train – a shared experience that unites everyone.
Enjoyment & exciting insights behind the scenes
Back in Realp, a delicious lunch of fresh salads and grilled food 🍽️, lovingly prepared by volunteers from the DFB (German Football Association), awaited us. Afterwards, we were treated to a fascinating tour of the depot, providing insights into the operation and history of the steam train.
We were particularly impressed by the fact that 800 helpers keeping the DFB alive with their commitment – a strong example of passion, teamwork and a common goal.
More than just a trip
This day was far more than a ride on a historic train—it was an experience full of team spirit, enthusiasm, and solidarity. We not only experienced the history of the Furka up close, but also celebrated our own history. 40 years of redIT, 40 years full of people making a difference together. It's time to tackle the next milestones!

The shift to electric cars: A development of the last 40 years
The automotive industry has undergone fundamental transformation over the past four decades. While electric cars existed only as niche products in the 1980s and 1990s, they are now experiencing rapid proliferation – including our car fleet. Today, they are an integral part of the beelk group! The transition to electric cars over the past 40 years is an impressive success story of technological innovations and social change. What was once considered an uneconomical niche is now one of the central pillars of sustainable mobility. For comparison, see the first company cars from the Wickarts office in the 80s.
Office space
A look into the offices of yesteryear reveals many things that seem almost antique today—corded telephones, an old typewriter, and computers long forgotten. Do you feel the same, or do you discover other relics from the past?
Compared to today, corded telephones and bulky computers are long gone. Instead, we're increasingly focusing on the health of our employees: Height-adjustable standing desks and ergonomic office chairs are an integral part of our daily work routine. Furthermore, modern 4K multi-screen setups enable efficient, high-quality work on a whole new level. 🚀
The era of digital transformation: From large and bulky to compact and elegant
Our products have evolved just as our office spaces have. Printers have evolved from slow, clunky devices to modern, multifunctional machines that simplify everyday work and promote sustainability.
Computers and laptops have also made tremendous progress – from slow desktops to powerful, compact devices with high speed, battery life and impressive functionality that can easily handle complex applications.
The past 40 years at the beelk group have been a journey full of change and progress. Our story
Since 1984, the beelk group has been developing steadily - from its first steps in the IT industry to becoming a leading provider of innovative IT services. On the occasion of our 40th anniversary, we look back at the milestones that have shaped our history.
We present our development in a timeline that shows how we have grown, opened new locations, founded companies and continuously developed. This journey was only possible thanks to committed employees, loyal customers and strong partners. Together we look back on the successes of the past four decades - and look to the future with enthusiasm!

1951 – In the beginning there was the typewriter
What began in the 1950s as Büro Wickart with a stationery and typewriter business developed over the decades into one of the most respected IT companies in Switzerland.
Josef Wickart recognized early on the importance of technological developments in everyday office life. With professional expertise, high service quality and a spirit of innovation, he steadily expanded the company and adapted the range of services to the growing demands of customers.
In 1969, the company was transformed into Josef Wickart Büromaschinenorganisation AG – a milestone that marked the change from classic stationery to office organization, office technology and IT services.
With increasing digitalization, the company continued to develop and established itself as a reliable partner for IT solutions and business software. Today, it is one of the leading providers in the industry and stands for quality, competence and future-oriented digitalization solutions.

1985 – Andreas Kleeb joins the company
Andreas Kleeb, founder and owner of today's beelk group, built the group from scratch and had a significant influence on it. His professional career began as a working student at the Wickart office in Zug, where he demonstrated his talent for IT and entrepreneurship at an early stage.
Parallel to his studies in business informatics, he took on responsibility for setting up what was then known as the IT department in the Wickart office. While IT (electronic data processing) was the technological standard at the time, today we speak of information technology (IT) - a change that Andreas Kleeb was actively involved in shaping.
Under his leadership, Büro Wickart increasingly shifted its focus to IT and office technology, laying the foundation for later success in the IT industry. The date Andreas Kleeb joined the company is now considered a milestone and serves as the starting point for our 40-year success story in IT.
This step marked the beginning of a dynamic corporate development – and is the foundation for the 40th anniversary of the beelk group, which we are celebrating today.

1990 – Participation in Wickart, Kleeb + Partner
Andreas Kleeb recognized the potential of IT early on and focused his attention on this area at Büro Wickart. Under his leadership, the IT department was expanded, transforming the company from a typewriter business into a modern IT service provider.
This change led to Andreas Kleeb becoming involved in the company and to the founding of Wickart, Kleeb + Partner. Initially, the focus was on trading in PCs, but the development of customized software solutions quickly followed. An analysis software for the Basel chemical company was particularly successful, as it was an early adopter of the trend toward data-driven corporate management.
With the increasing demand for integrated IT solutions, the company expanded its portfolio to include accounting solutions and order processing software for SMEs. Wickart, Kleeb + Partner thus developed from a hardware provider into a holistic IT service provider that supported companies not only with technology, but also with strategic advice and support.

1990 – Launch of SPOC
In 1990, Wickart, Kleeb + Partner AG started developing SPOC® (Single Point of Contact) set new standards in the IT service sector. This brand-protected concept was a milestone and was aimed specifically at large customers, covering the entire lifecycle of IT infrastructures - from procurement to installation and operation to professional disposal.
A key innovation was to clearly separate the trade in goods from the services provided - a pioneering approach at the time that increased transparency and efficiency in IT support. This concept convinced well-known customers such as Landis & Gyr, Siemens Building Technologies, ABB and many others.
The groundbreaking SPOC®The solution significantly accelerated the company's growth and established Wickart, Kleeb + Partner AG as a leading provider in the IT services sector. In 1996, the company was awarded the Canton of Zug's Innovation Prize for this innovation - a confirmation of its forward-looking strategy and innovative strength.

1998 – beelk group is founded
1998 – Andreas Kleeb founded beelk Holding AG to create an overarching structure and unite various companies under one roof. The aim is to bundle other business activities in addition to redIT and to make targeted use of synergies.
The holding structure has created a foundation that makes it possible to develop new business areas and integrate innovative companies into the group. In addition to the further development of redIT, further strategic activities are also planned to open up new markets and technologies.
The beelk group sees itself as a dynamic group of companies that is growing beyond the classic IT sector and is continuously adapting to the changing requirements of the market. The focus of the strategy is on entrepreneurial flexibility, digitalization and sustainable growth.


1999 – Launch of real estate company Ivira AG
In 1999, the beelk group took over a small real estate company with a commercial property that had long served as the company location for redIT's services and logistics. The company was renamed Ivira AG in 2008.
This takeover laid the foundation for numerous real estate projects and targeted real estate development in central Switzerland. As a regionally anchored company, Ivira AG now has a profitable real estate portfolio and offers its customers tailor-made solutions for the planning, implementation and management of real estate projects.
With a clear focus on quality, efficiency and sustainability, Ivira AG has established itself as a reliable partner in the real estate industry. It supports people and companies in the implementation of their residential and commercial projects and actively contributes to the economic development of the region.

2001 – Named redIT
Today's redIT was created in 2001 from continuous development in order to meet the increasing demands on IT services. Through the acquisition and integration of several IT companies, the range of services was expanded in a targeted manner, with the focus on innovative, customized solutions for companies.
Over the years, redIT has established itself as one of the leading IT service providers in Zug, specializing in IT infrastructure, managed services and cloud solutions. As an integral part of the beelk group, the company now stands for reliability, innovation and customer proximity.
As the company structure grew, the need for an overarching brand strategy arose. redIT, whose name is derived from the red of the Swiss flag and the IT focus, will in future be transferred to a new brand identity without any direct personal reference. This development is intended to ensure a uniform, future-oriented positioning of the entire group.

2007 – Aarau location
redIT has expanded its presence in the canton of Aargau by opening another location in Aarau. The modern location offers ideal conditions for efficient collaboration and is an important step in the company's strategic expansion.
The branch was created by taking over selected IT activities from T-Systems Switzerland and particularly strengthens the competencies in the areas of storage systems, high-availability solutions, virtualization and IT management. With this step, the beelk group is expanding its service portfolio and offering companies comprehensive solutions for optimizing their IT infrastructure.
Thanks to the increased regional presence, companies in the canton of Aargau benefit from even better support, fast response times and a wide range of future-oriented IT services.

2008 – beelk group moves to Inwil near Baar
With the move into the historic half-timbered house in the hamlet of Inwil in the municipality Baar The beelk group marked a milestone in its development. This location represents the successful combination of tradition and innovation – two values that have always characterized the company.
In 2008, the unique opportunity arose to take over the more than 500-year-old timber-framed house. This building, which has breathed history for centuries, proved to be the ideal headquarters for the beelk group. Not only did it provide space for modern and inspiring work spaces, but it also created an environment that impressively underlines the company's regional roots.
From the beginning, the Riegelhaus served not only as a company headquarters, but also as a home for various commercial tenants. This versatile use brought life to the historic building and promoted exchange between different industries and business areas.
With this location, the beelk group consciously opted for sustainable development that preserves the company's tradition while meeting the requirements of a modern company. The result is a unique working environment that combines innovation with history and reflects the identity of the beelk group in a special way.

2015 – Additional Oberrüti location for redIT
From logistics center to versatile company location: The development of the Oberrüti location of the beelk group - In 2008, the beelk group had the opportunity to take over a company in the retail environment as part of a succession solution. While the operational business activities of this company were resold in the meantime, the associated property proved to be an ideal location for the logistical and service-oriented requirements of the beelk group.
Initially, the site served primarily as a warehouse, logistics and service center. However, with the continuous development of the group of companies, the Oberrüti site became increasingly important. From 2015 onwards, it increasingly became a central hub for redIT's services. This required not only the expansion of the existing infrastructure, but also the targeted expansion of office space in order to meet the new requirements.
What once began as a pure logistics and processing center for specialized areas in IT has long since developed into a versatile location for the beelk group. Today, Oberrüti not only forms the logistical backbone of the company, but is also an important office location for various business areas. With this constant development, the beelk group has positioned itself optimally not only spatially, but also strategically, to meet the requirements of a modern and dynamic market.

2020 – The merger as a milestone: The path to today's redIT
The merger of beelk Services AG, Kinetic AG and redIT Services AG marked a decisive step in the development of today's redIT. The merger of these three companies not only bundled competencies, but also created a strong foundation for the future. This step made it possible to combine the broad expertise from the areas of IT services, infrastructure, digital solutions, printing and business solutions and thus offer an even more powerful service portfolio.
At a time when companies are increasingly looking for holistic, seamlessly integrated IT solutions, this merger proved to be strategically groundbreaking. More and more customers want to cover their IT needs from a single source and rely on a central partner who covers all requirements - from infrastructure to specialized business solutions - reliably and efficiently. This is exactly where redIT comes in: With the combined expertise of the three companies, a comprehensive range of services can now be provided that is individually tailored to the needs of the customers.
Since the merger, redIT has followed a clear, consistent path and offers customized IT services that combine the latest technology with many years of experience. The merger has not only increased flexibility and efficiency in solution development, but has also consolidated redIT's market position as a leading IT service provider.
With this strategic realignment, redIT is optimally positioned for the future – as a strong partner for companies that want to rely on innovative, reliable IT support provided from a single source.

2022 - Baar the new headquarters of redIT
Since 2022 Baar no longer just one of the beelk group's locations, but functions as the company's new headquarters. With the establishment of additional teams, the location quickly developed into a central hub for the entire group. Strategic decisions are made here, innovations are driven forward and overarching company processes are managed.
The dynamic development of redIT made this step necessary. The previous location on Chollerstrasse was increasingly no longer meeting the requirements of the growing service portfolio. In order to optimally serve the various business areas of the beelk group, a gradual, department-by-department relocation was initiated from 2022.
While the logistics-related business areas and goods-related services were relocated to the Oberrüti site, the cloud services and the central shared services of the group were located in Baar a new home. This targeted location strategy enabled the respective departments to be located in an environment that is perfectly tailored to their individual needs.
Our preview of Baar As its headquarters, the beelk group is now even more efficiently positioned: the location not only offers modern working environments, but also functions as an innovation center that drives the development of new services and solutions. The company thus underlines its claim to offer its customers future-oriented and efficient IT and business solutions from a single source.

2023 – green4 ag: Innovation for a sustainable energy future
green4 ag was founded with a clear mission: to develop innovative and future-oriented solutions in the field of renewable energies and sustainable technologies. The company relies on intelligent concepts that offer both ecological and economic advantages. The focus is on the development and implementation of technologies that enable the efficient use of renewable energies and help companies achieve their environmental and sustainability goals.
The idea to found green4 ag arose from redIT's activities in the field of building information technology. It quickly became clear that the potential in this area went far beyond individual projects. In order to do justice to this development, it was decided to bundle the expertise in an independent company. The targeted focus on sustainable energy solutions within a specialized organization is a key success factor and enables even greater innovative power.
With a holistic approach, green4 ag is actively contributing to driving the transition to a climate-friendly energy supply. Companies benefit from tailor-made solutions that help them operate sustainably while optimizing their energy costs.

2025 – 40 years of beelk group – A success story full of innovation, growth and future prospects
The beelk group is celebrating its 40th anniversary! Since its foundation in 1985, the company has developed steadily - from the first IT services to a leading provider in the areas of IT, business solutions and real estate. But the roots go back even further: the first foundations were laid in 1951, before the course for the future was set with the entry into IT.
Today, the beelk group is backed by strong companies: redIT, Ivira, Jetag and green4, which continue to drive success with their innovative strength and know-how. Through mergers, new locations and forward-looking decisions, the group has been able to constantly adapt to new market requirements and ensure sustainable growth.
This anniversary is a special moment of thanks. We thank:

Anniversary of the beelk group – From the typewriter to the IT pioneer
The journey began in 1951 with the Wickart office, a stationery and typewriter business in Zug. But it was in 1985 when Andreas Kleeb joined the then Wickart, Kleeb + Partner AG (WKP) that marked a decisive turning point. This year is considered the founding date of today's beelk groupThe IT company redIT developed from WKP and today forms a central part of the beelk group.
With over 70 years of experience and almost 40 years of IT expertise, the group has a lasting impact on the Swiss IT market. The beelk group is complemented by the Ivira AG in the real estate sector and the green4 AG, which offers innovative solutions in energy management. From the typewriter to the digital pioneer – since 1985 the beelk group has stood for progress, entrepreneurial spirit and innovation.
