Sananet AG has been active as a trading company in the field of medical products since 2014. The customers are clinics and practices located in Switzerland with a daily need for medical consumables for operations as well as general products for clinics and medical practices. Joachim Niggl was instrumental in setting up the company and now leads it as Managing Director.

Starting position – Meeting delivery requirements through digital processes

The requirements for suppliers in the medical industry are continuously increasing. In order to meet today’s standards as well as those of the future, Sananet was looking for a flexible overall solution that would also optimally support the company’s development. The main goals were to digitize the core processes with suppliers and business partners and to enable flexible and modern working. The goal is a highly available infrastructure that can be obtained as far as possible and reasonable as a cloud solution.

Challenge: Converting business processes to digital

To ensure simple and efficient handling of business processes, communication and data exchange with suppliers and business partners must be completely digital and paperless. For Joachim Niggl (Managing Director), it was also imperative to meet the requirements of a modern workplace. The new IT solution should ensure time and location-independent work and enable secure data access. Due to the large growth potential, it was also important to the young company Sananet that the new IT environment is scalable and that the hardware infrastructure can be flexibly adapted to changes. In addition, a financing model had to be selected that would ensure that Sananet could invest in its core business instead of tying up capital in IT. In order to reduce the number of interfaces, it was also important for the company to obtain services from a single source.

Solution: Services from the redCLOUD

Sananet found what it was looking for with the beelk group, which combines three specialized IT companies. The complete IT infrastructure to support process digitization is provided by redIT Services AG. The holistic solution is complemented by Kinetic’s document management system for legally compliant archiving of documents and the printing services of beelk services AG. Managed Services was implemented at Sananet in stages over a period of three months. Thanks to the preconfigured standard processes and the focused project methodology, the introduction of the business software from the cloud proceeded within the time and financial constraints.

The initial project included the implementation of CRM, order processing, and purchasing and sales. Following the successful implementation of the ERP software, the IT infrastructure was adapted to the requirements of digitalization. Thanks to the mixed form of public and private cloud, the solution guarantees maximum flexibility and meets the highest security requirements. The virtual servers with data storage in Switzerland are obtained on a monthly rental basis from redCLOUD and operated on a highly available ESX cluster, which are connected to redundant fiber SANs. Due to the large number of servers and the security-related redundancy, an availability of almost 100% is achieved. For the modern workplace and to simplify collaboration, Sananet uses Office 365. In addition, the number of licenses can be flexibly adjusted at any time, so only what is actually needed is paid for. Thanks to the introduction of accounts payable scanning, additional savings potential was realized. Compared to before, Sananet saves a good 50% of the resources previously used for processing the approximately 360 vendor invoices per month.
