MS Azure – computing power on demand

Scalable computing power for maximum flexibility thanks to MS Azure

ROBO STUDIO’s own five servers are sufficient for the vast majority of jobs, but if things have to be done quickly or if there are many jobs pending, the team accesses up to five additional virtual servers on MS Azure, which reduces rendering time many times over.

As digital pioneers ahead of time

Founded in 2020 by Mario Rothenbühler and Tom Böninger, Rothenbühler Visualizations is now continued under the name of ROBO STUDIO. The company specializes in the creation of high-quality computer-generated image worlds. As a pioneer in the field of digital technologies, including the graphic representation of products, ROBO STUDIO is always one step ahead of its time. ROBO STUDIO offers progressive and ambitious customers playfully changing content in uncompromising visual quality.

Processing power from the cloud to cover peaks in demand

The five servers of Rothenbühler Visualizations are sufficient for the vast majority of jobs, but if things have to be done quickly or if many jobs are pending, the team accesses up to five additional virtual servers from the cloud, which reduces the rendering time many times over. Until now, the company has used Amazon Web Services for this service.

The goal is to be faster, more individual and more precise

ROBO STUDIO is satisfied with the availability of computing power via Amazon Web Services. Even with this setup the company did not have to invest in additional hardware, which is largely unused, but can obtain additional computing power from the cloud as needed. However, the company was dissatisfied with the time until the servers were available, the Amazon licensing model and the billing method and was looking for an optimal solution for their needs.

Die optimale Lösung

Microsoft Azure – fast, flexible, inexpensive

Until now, the company has used the Amazon service AWS, but with redIT it has now switched to Microsoft, as more attractive licensing models are available for Azure and the virtual servers can be started and used immediately. Mario Rothenbühler is also convinced of the new solution with regard to billing: “I conveniently pay by monthly invoice to the exact minute and only pay for what we have actually used”.

Advantages

  • Flexible retrieval of computing power
  • Immediate availability of the servers
  • Billing to the minute and convenient monthly billing
  • Solution setup based on individual needs

Demand-oriented flexibility at the best price

With the help of redIT, the company completed the transfer from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to Microsoft Azure. The solution with Microsoft Azure, which was individually tailored to Rothenbühler visualisations, optimally meets the requirements for the following reasons.

  • Flexible retrieval of computing power
  • Immediate availability of the servers
  • Billing to the minute and convenient monthly billing
  • Solution setup based on individual needs
