New features in Teams – Did you know that…?
Learn about the 5 new features in Teams in the blog post. – These are presented individually and are the continuation of three previous updates from March, April and May 2021.
Share your… | If you would like to… | Recommended when… |
Desktop | View the entire screen, including notifications and other desktop activity. | You want to share multiple windows seamlessly. |
Window | Show only one window and no notifications or other desktop activity. | You want to show only one thing and do not want the rest of your screen to be visible. |
PowerPoint | Present a PowerPoint file where others can interact with. | You want to share a presentation and intend for others to be able to go through it at their own speed. |
Whiteboard | Work with others in real time. | You want to sketch with others and have your notes attached to the meeting. |
When you are done sharing, go to your meeting controls and select ”Stop sharing”

Do not share content anymore
Select ”Transfer control” from the sharing toolbar.
Select the name of the person you want to give control to.
Teams sends a notification to that person to let them know that you are sharing the control. While you share the control, they can make selections and other changes to the shared screen.To take back control, select ”Take back control’‘.

To take control while another person is approving, select ”Request Control” aus. The other person can then approve or deny your request.
While you are in control, you can make selections, edits, and other changes to the shared screen.
When you are finished, select ”Stop Control”.

And to zoom in or out, try the following:
- Press inward or outward on your keyboard.
- Use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+Plus sign and Ctrl+Minus sign.

How to set up an out of office status:
- Option: In Microsoft Teams, select your ”Profile Picture”, in the next step click ”Set Status Message” and finally click ”Schedule Time Away”.
- Option: Select ”Settings”, after that click ”General’‘, ”Absence” and choose ”Schedule”.
